My favorite 2014 beauty products!

It’s time to share my top ten beauty products of 2014 with you! :) This was a very hard task, especially because I love so many products I started using in the summer and later in the autumn. This is why I included some products I bought the middle of the year just because I’ve been pretty obsessed with them and probably will be until I find something even better :) Let’s go!

I wrote about The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing powder a while ago and it’s still my favorite bronzer. This one is in the shade medium matte (03) and it’s quite fair, but still dark enough to contour the face. As I predicted, it is much more visible on my skin now than it was in the summer. On the plus side, it has a perfect mirror which is great if you carry it in your handbag.  ♦  If we stay in the cheek area, I always like to complement the bronzer with a bit of a blush. The one I’ve been using the most is the Bourjois blusher in the shade Frosted Rose (54). The packaging is so darn cute, and the color! It is very pigmented and a bit shimmery, which is great because you don’t need to apply additional highlighter. However, the blusher is literally hard as a rock and it’s nearly impossible to apply it with a soft Real Techniques blush brush. This is probably why the enclosed little brush is so harsh, because almost none of my brushes is suitable :D I still love it, it leaves a lovely finish.    The next one is my life savior when my skin gets crazy (which is happening right now!), it’s the Catrice Camouflage Cream  in the shade Light Beige. I even hit pan last week which must be the best proof that I use it a lot. The coverage is insane for such an affordable concealer, and although I’ve been using it quite regularly over the year, the pot will surely last for another few months.    As far as eye shadows are concerned, I use lots of eye palettes, but this product is the one I use as a base or just by itself throughout the whole year. It’s the Maybelline Color Tattoo in the shade Permanent Taupe (40). It’s so pigmented, long lasting and doesn’t smudge and although I use it practically every day, the majority of the product is still there. A wonderful product, big thanks to my best friend who gave it to me as a gift. Thank you, Anita!    The last one from this series is the Rimmel  Stay Matte long lasting pressed powder in the shade Silky Beige (005). Nothing special to say here, obviously a great mattifying and setting powder I use every single day.

I have two favorite nail polishes this time, the first one is the Essie nail polish in the shade Bahama Mama. I’ve used quite a lot of it, and how wouldn’t I when the shade is so gorgeous! The rich and deep plum color makes it perfect for autumn and winter, but I love to use it in warmer months too ;) Love!  ♦  The next one is the Rimmel  nail polish in the shade White Hot Love (703). I never cared about white nail polishes, but this one just does the trick! It really steps out in summer when my skin gets darker.   The next one is my favorite lip stick ever, it’s the Revlon Colorburst lipstick in the shade Fuschsia (030). I used it in every season, it’s such a long lasting lip product in bright pink.  ♦  I have to mention another lip product, the Alverde lip balm. I don’t completely understand in which scent it is, the packaging says Cranberry in English and Kirsche (Eng: cherry) in German, let’s just say it has cherry scent. It is great at moisturizing the lips and prevents them from chapping. I also adore the one with vanilla and orange, but I can’t seem to find it anywhere, it was probably a limited edition. Anyway, this must be my fourth or fifth lip balm so far, I can’t stop using it! You can get it in DM.   Last but not least, we have the Catrice Liquid Metal Gel Eye Pencil in the shade Leaf The World Behind (040). It is in a bit smudgy form, but is nevertheless very long lasting. I use it instead of an eye liner and although it’s in dark green, it goes great together with almost any make up look!

These are my beauty picks of 2014, have you tried any of them? :) Take care,

Christmas and New Year’s Eve Manicure

22. 12. 2014

I’ve been all about glitter for the past two weeks, and this won’t probably change until the holidays are over :)  Let me show you my three favorite festive manicures, all of them are very elegant and thus great for a dinner or a night out. The first step is to apply one coat of basecoat, I usually use the Brodway Nails Nail Strenghtener. Then you can proceed to any of these manicures! :)

Ombre Glitter: First, I applied two coats of the China Glaze nail polish in shade Diva Bride (216). The ombre effect is achieved by applying one thin coat of the Catrice Luxury Lacquers nail polish in shade Bronze Upon A Time starting in the middle of the nail. When it is dry, apply a bit thicker layer on the nail tip.

Glitter French Tips: I applied two coats of a taupe Maybelline Colorama nail polish in shade 165. Then I took the Catrice Luxury Lacquers nail polish in shade Bronze Upon A Time and applied the nail polish horizontally from one side of the nail tip to the other. It is a lot more simple than it might seem! :)

Red Nails and Silver Dots: This festive manicure is by far the easiest to make. I used the Maybelline Colorama red nail polish (15) and applied two coats. Then I took the Revlon nail polish in shade Silver Screen 098 and created small dots on the outer sides of the nails.

The last step is to apply a topcoat, but I rarely do that. My nails chip either way on the second day, so I don’t even put any effort into using it :) My favorite manicure is the first one, a lovely nude color with ombre golden glitter. Which one do you prefer? :) Take care ♥

New in + short reviews

Guilty as charged: I’ve gone a bit crazy with shopping this month! As I usually cannot wait to test every product as soon as I get home, this post will be a combination of the things I purchased and some short reviews. It is featuring makeup and skincare; however, there will be another one going online soon and will focus on some of my latest hair products.

rsz_img_4636

The first one is the Ziaja hand cream with coconut. It contains coconut lipids, rich in omega 3 and 6, and canola oil. I have to say, I was a bit sceptic about this one because the scent is incredibly strong, but it turned out to be one of my favorite hand creams so far! It is very moisturising and melts into the skin in seconds. On the plus side, the price is just around € 2–3 in DM.  ♦  The second one is the Gabriela Sabatini Eau de toilette. I’ve been thinking about getting this one for a week and then my sister got it for me as a present! ♥ The scent is very complex, for those who are not very professional in the perfume district (me included!), this is somehow similar to the Chanel 5. I made a “short research” and to my surprise, they both share some fragrance notes, such as neroli, jasmine and sandalwood. I would say that not a lot of women approve of this kind of perfumes, especially because the scent is very strong and stays with you throughout the whole day. Again, it is very affordable, the 30 ml bottle costs just around € 20. Needless to say, I love it!

I almost finished my Gariner micellar water, so I decided to try the L’Oréal Skin Perfection. It works great as well and cleanses the skin in no time. The only difference I’ve noticed so far is that I don’t feel the need to wash may face after I use it like I do after using the Garnier one. It costs € 5,99 in DM, but I got it for 3,99 with one of the coupons for 150 points.  ♦  The next product is the Balea Oil Fluid for face cleansing with camellia oil and vitamin E. It promises to remove makeup and other impurities. I certainly expected too much from this product, especially after such a long period of using micellar waters. The fluid didn’t lather as it should accordding to the packaging, but rather created a weird milk-like texture and just messed up all of my makeup. It is probably best to use it after removing everything in the evening or in the morning. It costs around € 2.

I wrote about the Max Factor Excess Shimmer in shade Bronze two weeks ago and I’ve been using it almost every day ever since. ♥ It costs around € 10.  ♦  The second eyeshadow is the L’Oréal  Color Riche eyeshadow in shade Lumiere (500). It’s a beautiful golden eyeshadow with great pigmentation, but I haven’t tried it properly yet. I may make a separate post about it in the near future. The price is around € 8.

Last but not least, we have two nail polishes. The first one is the Maybelline Colorama nail polish in shade 165, a lovely taupe color. As I’ve said countless times, their long lasting effect surprises me every single time. With this one, two coats are obligatory, as the first one is really transparent and uneven. The price is a bit less than € 3.  ♦  The second one is the Catrice Luxury Lacquers in shade Bronze Upon a Time (06), isnt’t the name just adorable? :D The glitter has gorgeous copper and golden shades, very festive indeed. It costs around € 4.  In addition, I’ll be featuring both of them in one of the posts in the following week.

Have you tried any of these products so far? :)

Take care ♥

Collective Beauty Haul!

25. 10. 2014

IMG_2855

Hi there! When life is tough or hectic, there is nothing better than a tiny bit of shopping, am I right, ladies? ;) That’s exactly what happened this week. I rarely go to a drugstore and buy crazy amounts of makeup at a time. On the contrary, I go to drugstores quite often, but since I don’t need any more makeup in reality, my goal is to buy only those products that I do need or find really interesting (and I cannot stop thinking about them!). Luckily, this doesn’t happen very often ;)

For the past few weeks I’ve been searching for a new foundation. My complexion is quite specific, so it is difficult for me to find the right one. I must say, I was really surprised when I tried out the Bourjois CC cream, the color is unbelievably similar! This one is in shade 33 and although the darker one seemed to match my skin better, I decided to buy a bit lighter one, since I won’t be exposed to much sun in the following months. I used it a couple of times so far, but I’m not sure whether it will completely substitute my current foundation. Next, I got a bit crazy at the Maybelline counter! The first one is the Colorama nail polish (652), a lovely green shade that will come in handy when I get tired of various red/violet/pink nails :D The second product is the Colorama lip gloss in a pink shade (289). I don’t know what happened to me in the last few weeks, I became beyond obsessed with lip glosses!

IMG_2847

As you can see, I  bought yet another one. It’s the Catrice lip smoother in shade 030 Cake Pop, both the name and the smell/taste are so yummy! And the color is amazing on the lips, a bit nude and baby pink. I also bought the essence lip liner in shade 06 satin mauve just for this two lip glosses’ sakes! It intensifies the color and prolongs the wear. Last but not least, I got the L’Oréal bronzer as a gift in Müller the other day and it has been my favorite bronzer ever since! It’s in shade 04 and contains very small glitter that is not visible after I apply it on my face. I do have to apply it in small quantities though, because it is the darkest shade and it can be a bit too much, a sort of a Halloween look if I’m not careful enough :D

IMG_2852

I did enjoy doing this type of post again and I will try to make some more in the future :) Have you tried any of these products before? Because I am really interested in what other girls think about this Bourjois CC cream … I think I will really like it :) Have a lovely weekend ♥
