Skin hydration on point

28. 5. 2017

img_2410img_2387I’ve already stated several times that I love using face serums and mists as I feel my skin mainly needs hydration. I don’t have any wrinkles yet at this point so I don’t feel like using heavy and rich creams that would make my mixed skin even more confused than it already is. I recently added another item to my skincare routine that I already love so so much. I’m talking about the by Melvita. Don’t be scared of these French words, it just means we’re talking about an Orange Blossom Extraordinary Water!

is a pre-moisturizer in a liquid form with orange blossom water that will soften and soothe your skin. Another essential ingredient is hyaluronic acid which moisturizes the skin and improves its texture. The gel-like water sinks into the skin in a matter of seconds and leaves a very soft feeling to the touch. It works great on its own, but I usually apply a serum on top in the morning before the rest of my make up routine. And the scent, I love orange blossom and this is another product that I wouldn’t mind smelling all day long! I would certainly recommend it to anyone who already use serums or wish to add a bit of mositurizing products to their skincare routine.

Essence & Catrice spring releases

19. 5. 2017

essence-next-stop-summer

catrice-provocatriceimg_0821img_0826img_0831img_0837Essence and Catrice released two of their new limited editions in Slovenia this week! I couldn’t be more excited as there are plenty of trendy and summery products to choose from at their drugstore stands.

Catrice is offering us two of their new gorgeous lines. You can take a peek at a rather elegant Provocatrice section where you will find a number of exciting makeup products. Options are endless, everyone can find something to their taste: subtle Eye Palette eye shadows, a transparent Scented Powder (which I have to get my hands on!), wonderful Gradiation Blushes, Volume Lash Dust to treat your lashes with some volume, Nail Lacquers, and two Cushion Powder Lips. I got the opportunity to try out the Cushion Powder Lips lipstick in shade Raspberry Belle, a gorgeous pink powder lipstick that creates a silky matt finish. I don’t love it just because it is so radiant and looks amazing, but also because I love its cushion formula (the lipstick is actually inside the lid!)!

Catrice also released a separate nail polish line, ICONails Gel Lacquer. There are so many shades to choose from, but I had to choose the most classic and elegant red there is, It’s All About That Red. I think it goes well with any type of clothes and always looks amazing.

On the other hand, Essence brought us a completely summery collection Next Stop: SUMMER that will instantly make you feel summer is already here! Airbrush bronz & glow face and body spray, sun protect lip conditioner, colour changing lipsticks and sun glow top coat are just the products I would love to try out – I have to visit Müller very soon! There are also a dry & wet eyeshadow & eyeliner palette, matte blotting paper and some other cute items that are worth checking out.

Big thanks to Dominur for these two products and a gorgeous Essence Notebook! Essence is celebrating its 15th anniversary already, I cannot believe it as it feels like it was just yesterday that I bought my first Essence product. Keep up the good work! #15pinkyears

Australian vibes

29. 4. 2017

Aussie has everything I want in a good quality hair care brand: effective treatments, exotic scents and a beautiful packaging. I came across their hair care products around two years ago and I immediately fell in love with their 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor. A few weeks ago I went for the whole bottle of this intense hair mask and, well well, I also got myself the lightweight oil treatment from the same Reconstructor line for damaged hair. As I am a huge fan of hair oils, this was an obvious choice.

The 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor is an intense mask that has an insanely satisfying scent to it, I can only describe it as a tropical bubble gum! It includes Australian Balm Mint which is supposed to treat dry hair and smooth them out. It also gives them lots of shine compared to when I’m not using any conditioner. On the other hand, the 3 Miracle Oil Reconstructor gives your hair additional shine and silky feeling. Its non-greasy formula with three types of oils, the Australian macadamia nut, jojoba-seed and avocado oil, treats your hair and you can never use too much as it can happen with regular oils – it just sinks into the hair, leaving a wonderful tropical scent!

I have only positive experience with these two products, so I would highly recommend them to those who have very dry hair that could use some deep treatment and some fabulous shine!

Sun Di Gioia by Giorgio Armani

21. 4. 2017

I’ve had a soft spot for good quality fragrances for a few years now and my fragrance preferences have changed a lot since I was a teenager. I hated sweet scents, but now it is hard to imagine that I would buy a very fresh eau de toilette and actually enjoy using it. When I got the Sun di Gioia by Giorgio Armani as a gift a few months ago, I was nothing but ecstatic to see how it would wear on my skin. I tried it a couple of times at the drugstore, but then I finally got the opportunity to test it out and make a proper review!

This eau de parfum is characterised by very warm notes of vanilla and amber. White flowers and powdery notes also contribute to its feminine touch. The creators of Sun di Gioia wanted to capture the warmth of the Mediterranean sun and when I close my eyes, I can actually see myself lying on the beach savouring every sun ray that touches my skin …

When I spray Sun di Gioia on my skin, vanilla and amber are the notes that predominate at the beginning. However, the focus slowly shifts to floral notes of frangipani, ylang-ylang, bergamot, freesia and jasmine. After a couple of hours, warm notes of vanilla again come to the forefront and stay there until the evening. In my opinion, this is a perfect fragrance for spring and early summer!

Effaclar Duo(+) Unifiant

3. 4. 2017

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo(+) UnifiantLa Roche Posay review
I’m a complete newbie when it comes to the La Roche-Posay cosmetics. La Roche-Posay always seemed to be a brand with great skincare to me, but I never felt any hype around it. I was thinking about trying the brand in autumn and luckily I got the Effaclar Duo(+) Unifiant at the beauty conference last September!

The Effaclar Duo(+) Unifiant is basically a unifying daily cream. It is supposed to reduce imperfections as well as red and brown marks. Regular use should also help you unclog pores, refine your skin texture and control shine. I’ve been using it regularly for a few weeks now and it’s very difficult for me to say that it reduces any pigmentation or changes your skin texture. However, although it seems like a silky cream to the touch,  it covers the imperfections on my skin in a remarkable way. I’ve never tried any daily cream that would cover so many imperfections to such an extent, which is obviously a big plus. And although I have a yellow undertone, it matches my skin without any problems and doesn’t look pink at all. All in all, a complete opposite to any BB-cream by Balea or Maybelline I’ve tried so far.

I usually apply it after my daily moisturizer on those areas that need some coverage, such as my cheeks, T-zone and my chin. If I have some errands to run, I’ll just continue with my usual makeup routine. I love how it looks on my skin and I’ll definitely buy a new one when this tube up. It retails in Slovenia at around € 17 (here).

Freedom cosmetics goodies

28. 3. 2017

Lovely ladies at Ličila.si surprised Slovenian beauty bloggers with a little gift for the International Women’s Day on 8 March. Each of us got a package with several Freedom make up products, some of them are from their #ProArtist line. Their parcels are always so cute, they wrap your order in a gorgeous wrapping paper with pink make up prints! I received three pieces, a brown I Heart Makeup eyeliner in shade Channeling my inner, an eye shadow shimmer refill in shade 08, and a yellow Pro HD Longwear corrector.

img_9013 img_9049kolaz-2After testing all three products out, I can tell you which one is my absolute favorite: the I heart Makeup eyeliner! It has a brown/bronzy shimmery look to it and an amazing pigmentation. What surprised me the most is that it didn’t smudge in my crease, which is unbelievable. The formula dries up pretty quickly and doesn’t move at all despite my hooded eyes and the fact that all waterproof eyeliners eventually smudge all over my eye lid. I’m really impressed and I see myself ordering another one or two from the same line. Next is the eye shadow refill in a golden, copper shade. The pigmentation is not that intense and it looks very sheer on the eyelid. I think it will work great as a base or transition shade. My least favorite product this time is the Pro HD Longwear corrector, too light for me both in texture and in color. It doesn’t cover the imperfections the way I want it to and you can see that it just sits in small wrinkles under my eyes. I’ll probably mix it with foundations that happen to be too dark for me, I think it would work great this way!

Big thanks to the Ličila.si team, you really made our day even more special!

Real techniques brushes & purple, my favorite combination

17. 3. 2017

Real Techniques Eyes Starter SetReal Techniques Eyes Starter SetReal Techniques Eyes Starter Setimg_8897img_8918
I’ve been a daily user of several Real Techniques face brushes for years, so their eye makeup brushes were an obvious choice when I decided to try something new. And they were purple, who wouldn’t want that! Well, I didn’t buy the them just for their color, but because I wanted a set and this one basically includes every single brush you need. The Real Techniques starter set for eyes consists of the following five brushes: deluxe crease brush, base shadow brush, accent brush, fine liner brush, and brow brush.

So far I’ve tried three of them, both base shadow and crease brush as well as the accent brush. My first impressions are just like I imagined them to be: they are soft, precise and efficient. They complement my current eye shadow brush collection nicely and I really enjoy using the deluxe crease brush, it is much easier to blend everything together and create a smoky eye look now! And the accent brush is great for applying a highlighting eye shadow in the inner corner of my eyes and blending the eye pencil out.

The set also comes in a white panoramic case that is useful for travelling. The case is not the nicest I’ve seen in my life, but it serves its purpose. The right inner part has enough space for five brushes and the left side has two bigger compartments that can be used for storing two additional brushes. I find this amazing, because I can easily add two of my favorite face brushes, the blush and the expert face brush.

However, I have yet to try the fine line brush and the brow brush, first I have to buy a new gel eyeliner and a brow pomade, ha! We always find a way to buy new things, don’t we? :)
