Extraordinary Melvita

27. 11. 2017

img_7327img_7348
Winter is almost here and my preparations to start fighting dry skin before it’s too late are in full swing. It seems that Melvita was thinking weeks ahead before the Beautiful Bloggers Meet Up, they assembled such cute packages for each of us! Inside there were two products that have quickly become a staple in my skincare routine. They also have their own website if you wish to take a look: .

The first one is the , a nicely scented dry oil with five oils: Argan, Kendi, Buriti, Inca Inchi and Pracaxi oils. Most of them are completely new to me, but the blend of all of them creates a very delicate skincare item that can be used on the face, body and on the hair. I am mostly using it on my body and on my hair, and oh my, how good and shiny my hair looks the day after applying L’Or Bio! Really an extraordinary product that works great on the entire body and does not leave any oily residue.

The second product is the . Such creams are usually very heavy, but not this one. It comes in a slightly lighter form, has a nice scent and immediately sinks into the skin. I can already see that the skin on my hands has improved these past few weeks and there is no other hand cream to praise than L’Or Bio!

The Body Shop is here!

25. 11. 2017

As a huge The Body Shop lover, I was utterly excited when I found out that the shop is coming to Slovenia. The website is actually already running, you can take a look here! Their team attended the beauty conference and it was so amazing to talk with everybody and discuss their grand opening. However, they are still looking for a place for the main shop and I really hope they will find something good in the center of Ljubljana – this means I would be able to take a look at all the new editions as soon as they come out! :)

At the conference, all the bloggers received a beautiful black tote bag with golden details. I really love their body butters and already used up several different scents – I am actually going through the last bits of their coconut body butter these days! They released several winter scents and we actually got small body butter editions from the winter collection. I received Frosted Plum, a gorgeous pastel violet body butter that literally smells like plum and delicate flowers. It is very thick, but sinks into the skin very nicely, leaving a pleasant gentle scent. The second product is the Matte Lip Liquid and this one is in a neutral, nude shade Vienna Tulip 033. The finish is velvety rather than completely matte, but it does dry over the hours. I am interested to hear how all the other shades turn out from the other girls. Last but not least, there were several samples of their other products and I already used most of them up! The Drops of Youth sleeping mask is absolutely amazing, especially because you leave it on your skin overnight to do its job. This one is definitely on my wish list!

The conference is the first of the kind in Slovenia and was organised by the beautiful and talented Nika Veger for the third consecutive year. We started the day by breakfast and coffee, listened to many great lecturers, had lunch and went through two pop up markets. As always, the most pleasant part was to meet my fellow blogger ladies (and a male beauty blogger!) and network with the companies, and discussing the new products that have just been or will soon be released in Slovenia was also amazing. However, we also touched upon more serious subjects that come to mind, particularly all the responsibilities the bloggers bear towards young followers. Although the last year’s conference was amazing in every aspect and I would never believe it could be improved, Nika managed to do just that! Everything was organised to a tee and we received so many wonderful gifts that will be featured on my blog pretty soon. I would really like to thank Nika and all the sponsors who allowed us to enjoy the day as much as we could! :)

Afrodita, Alterna & Olaplex, Avon, Catrice and Esseece (Dominur), Caudalie, Fidimed, Gardenia,
Gelish & Morgan Taylor, Huawei, Le Couvent de Minimes, L’Occitane, Lotique, Medex, Melvita, Nelipot,
Philips, Rauch, S. Oliver, Smile Concept Store, The Body Shop, Vichy, Yankee Candle (Vonj narave)

iLove Parfums by Herbio

30. 10. 2017

img_6858As I am a huge supporter of Slovenian companies, I was really glad that Herbio released a new fragrance line recently. The company is mainly focusing on their own herbal skincare, but now they also offer six fragrances for women and four for men. I was kindly invited to their event where I received a fragrance No. H7005 in such a beautiful and elegant bottle! It features fruity notes of pear and black currant, flowery notes of iris, jasmine and orange blossom along with patchouli, tonka bean, praline and vanilla. All in all, a gorgeous combination of fruits and flowers with a hint of oriental sweetness. The reason I adore this fragrance so much is probably because it is very similar to one of my favorite eaux de parfum, La vie est belle. It develops nicely on my skin with iris and praline coming to the fore – a winning combination in my opinion, but you can find your own favorite here! Anyway, it has a decent wear time, I can notice it throughout the day without being too overpowering and it fades by the end of the day. Herbio, thank you once again for sharing a bit of you new line with me and I cannot wait to try more of your products!

Pre-holiday Lush Haul

21. 10. 2017

img_6732img_6779img_6734 img_6740img_6772Pre-holiday season is almost here, which only means one thing: a bunch of new Lush goodies for Halloween and Christmas! I was thinking about dropping by the Lush store for days and when I was passing by last week and the whole street was smelling exactly like Lush, I just had to go inside and take a look. They have so many new items, from naked shower gels and lotions, brand new face masks, lip balms and fragrances to limited Halloween and Christmas bath bombs.

As I am running out of my Bubblegum lip scrub, my first choice was their new Sugar Plum Fairy lip scrub. When one of their employees showed it to me and I saw its cute violet color and I realized it smells fantastic, I was sold! I love finely ground sugar lip scrubs and the fact that it smells like the tastiest cotton candy mixed with sweet wild orange oil makes it even better to use. The second item is the Santa’s Belly, a shower jelly that smells like apples, star anise, red grape juice, bergamot oil and rose absolute. A real winter treat that leaves a lovely scent on my skin. You can either take a small piece and lather it in your hands or the whole jelly and you just put it back in the jar after use. Last but not least, I couldn’t leave the shop without a limited edition bath bomb! I went for the Sparkly Pumpkin bubble bar. I mean, who wouldn’t want to dip themselves into a sparkly bath for the yummiest aroma therapy sesh ever with junipberry, lime and grapefruit oil? However, it is true that I don’t mind having glitter all over me the next day. All in all, this haul has really gotten me into the holiday spirit and I cannot wait for all the festivities to begin!

New in by Catrice for Autumn/Winter 2017

6. 10. 2017

img_6281img_6329img_6301

Catrice has already launched their Autumn/Winter makeup collections and once again I had the opportunity to test three of their new products. I think Catrice is improving season by season, the quality of the products is obviously great considering the price, but the packaging of their limited editions is becoming much more elegant as well.

In my opinion, the most exciting product is the Liquid Lip Powder – Ultra Matt in a hot pink shade Spotted on Pink-erest 09. I really didn’t know what to expect as I’ve tried a powder lipstick before and its longevity wasn’t perfect. However, this Liquid Lip Powder is hands down the best matt lip gloss I own. The pigmentation doesn’t look that intense on the picture – and the lip gloss is actually much pinker – but becomes completely opaque when applied on the lips. I’m sure I’ve gone six hours with one application in the morning, drank coffee and even ate without having to make any touch-ups. Of course it can be a bit drying on the lips, but this is the price to pay for perfect matt lips, isn’t it? There are five more shades available in Müller and I have yet to get at least another one or two!

I’m not that quickly satisfied with brow products and I can proudly say that I adore the Brow Palette Matt & Glow in 01 Now Flash Lights. This is the lightest palette of the two and works great on my dark brown brows, but I’m not that sure it is light enough for those with lighter hair. The palette consists of three compartments, a wax you can sculpt your brows with, a matt powder for a natural finish as well as a light-reflecting powder for glow finish. Although I usually hate small brushes that come with palletes of this kind, this one is so cute and actually great to work with! I really love how my brows look after the application, the combination of wax and powder really make it so easy to shape the brows and hold them in place for the entire day.

The second lip product is actually part of the Dawid Tomaszewski limited edition, a gorgeous line that is incredible just to look at, not to mention that the products are just as amazing. I received the Wild Matt Lip Colour in shade Unconventional Violet. The name fits this lippie perfectly, I’ve really had some issues to test it out properly as I think the color is slightly too bold to wear it to work! Nevertheless, its texture is very creamy and pleasant to wear, but I always have to use a lip scrub the night before as it can quickly become patchy on the lips. I would love to try the Fashion Flash Highlighter from the same collection, it looks gorgeous! Have you spotted any of these products at your nearest drugstore? :)

September favorites #2017

29. 9. 2017

img_6535img_6522img_6581
September is practically over and I have finally time to share my current favorites with all of you! The past few months have been insanely hectic and a good makeup routine was key to get myself ready in 10 minutes and still look presentable.

The most exciting makeup items of this season must have been the two products by Artdeco. I had a few of their items when I was in high school, but then completely lost track of their offer – up until I bought these two around three months ago. The first one is the three toned Ombre Lipstick in shade red fusion (43), a gorgeous lippie with three different shades. You can apply a combination of dark red, peachy middle shade and bright red in three ways – with the brightest shade either on top or at the bottom of your lips or you just apply all of them at the same time to create just one shade. All of them are completely opaque and intense, a perfect way to create a trendy look in a matter of seconds! The formula is very creamy, too, and lasts for hours. You can also intensify the shade with the dark or bright red, or focus on the peachy shade for a more neutral look. The second product is the Hydra Mineral Compact Foundationa compact powder foundation in shade fresh beige (07) I just use for setting my regular foundation. It has a mattifying finish and holds my makeup in place throughout the whole day, can you imagine that?! An extraordinary product, really! I also love it on the days I only use a BB cream and just want to add a bit more coverage. I got the refill version first as I had to choose the darkest shade available in Slovenia, but will probably buy a lighter one in the silver casing so that it will be nicer to look at during the colder months!

As I was saying, here you will see the major part of my makeup routine where the Sun Stripping Bronzer and High Glow Mineral Highlighting Powder by Catrice were playing a significant role! I already mentioned the bronzer from the Soleil d’Été limited edition here and I can just reaffirm that I love using this product, it matches my complexion perfectly and should without a doubt be part of their standard collection. I also used to finish my look with a baked highlighter that creates a subtle glow on my cheeks. This one is not that intense, but is very buildable if you want to achieve a shiny look.

On my lashes I’ve been using the Bourjouis Volume 1 seconde, a waterproof mascara that I wanted to test out during the summer. Honestly, I didn’t like the mascara at first – it was very runny and has weird plastic balls on the brush (I have no clue what these are for). However, it dried up slightly after a week and it’s been a joy to use ever since. It also worked great during that horrible heat we had this year and there were no black smudges underneath my eyes, mission complete!

Last but not least, my Yankee Candle obsession is real, you guys! I bought this cute rose candle Summer Scoop during summer sales and it’s been reminding me of this year’s summer all the time! I just hope it will last me for a few weeks, I want to preserve this feeling for a few more months…. :)
