Corine de Farme Purity Micellar Water

I can finally add a new micellar water to my the-micellar-waters-I-already-tested list! I really thought that the Garnier one would me my favorite until the end of my lifetime – especially after my post comparing five micellar waters, but I was wrong. A few months ago, I decided to give the Corine de Farme Purity Micellar Water a go, especially because 97% of its ingredients are from natural origin. It is also paraben-, colorant-free and hypoallergenic and also suitable for dry or sensitive skin.

This micellar water removes my make up like no other product. It is gentle to the skin, but at the same time very efficient. It also cleanses the eye makeup nicely, but it sometimes slightly irritates my eyes (actually nothing crazy, really). The reason why I’m pointing this out is because the label says it is ophthalmologically tested and I would assume it to be completely neutral to the eyes. But at the same time, products have to be somehow intense to remove all that mascara and eyeliners, so there is probably no way of escaping it. I even tried eye removers that were much much more irritable than this Purity Micellar Water, so I’m not complaining. There is no sticky layer left on my face after using it, which I obviously like. Another small thing that bothers me is the pump, it’s impossible to get a small amount of the water out and it sometimes just spurts out without control. But I still love using it because it is so so efficient!

You get 500 ml of the micellar water for around € 10 in Slovenian stores, a real bargain if you ask me. I’m really looking forward to trying more of the Corine de Farme products, they haven’t disappointed me so far!

Yet another year has come to an end which means I have a bunch of favorites to share with you guys! Here I gathered eight products that really stepped out last year and all of them were mentioned at least once before. This also means that there are tons of other great products that I still love without mentioning here, so you can read more about them in my monthly favorites!

First must be the Zoeva Cocoa Blend, an amazing warm-toned palette with some of the most blendable eye shadows I own. It’s very versatile and you can create a variety of shimmery as well as matt looks (more here!). Another makeup item is the Makeup Designory blush in shade Garnet. Its red wine hue creates a wonderful flush of color and goes well with every skin tone (more here!). As for the lips, I cannot go without mentioning the Kiko Milano Smart Lip Pencil in a mauve shade 711. This is such a lovely all-around color, I wear it on its own for a matt look or add some lipstick if I want it more glossy and moisturising (more here!). In terms of nail polish, I love love the Alessandro one in shade Baby Blue. The quality and longevity are beyond amazing, I think there are some other shades that would quickly find their place in my collection (more here!)!

There are two The Body Shop products that I’ve loved since summer. The first one is the Tea Tree Skin Cleansing Clay Mask, a very refreshing cleansing mask. As their Tea Tree line is among my favorites, there was no doubt this mask would work great for me. It’s very cooling on the skin but it really doesn’t dry it out as much as other clay masks do! The second product is the amazing Moringa Body Butter, oh how much I love it! The Body Shop body butters are always so moisturising and nourishing and the fact that they smell amazing is just another big bonus. I love them all, but this one is definitely the most used at the moment (more here and here!). As for face serums, I used the Lavera Organic Mint Moisturizing Fluid to the last drop! It’s insanely moisturising and beautifully preps my skin for makeup (more here!). Last but not least, I really really loved the Corine de Farme Refreshing Orange Blossom Mist, a very refreshing and hydrating face mist. I’ve been using it mostly in my evening routine before applying face oils or rich night creams (more here!). Oh and I love its scent, it reminds me of summer

In obožujem njen vonj, spominja me na poletje

Summer favorites ◊ 2016

My my, autumn is almost here! I cannot say that I enjoyed this summer to the fullest as I had a lot of weird weather in Belgium, but June and August weren’t that bad either. Let’s take a look at what I’ve been using regularly for the past few months to feel the best as possible.

IMG_6186
The first and the most important thing I’ve been using for the past two summers are water sprays. The Balea face and body mist has often saved my body from boiling! When the heat gets unbearable, spray this mist all over your body, even several times if necessary, and you will immediately feel much more refreshed. Plus, this one is not expensive at all compared to other mists as it only costs around € 2. I have to mention the Corine de Farme Refreshing Orange Blossom MistI love how fresh my face feels after the use. I haven’t been using it just for spraying my face, but also as a toner before applying my night cream. I already mentioned it here!

The next thing that has a constant place in my morning routine is the CD Deo Pump Spray with water lily. I basically love all of their deodorants because they are free from aluminium salts, mineral oils, silicones, parabenes, colouring and contain no ingredients derived from animals. This also means they will not prevent you from sweating, but this is unfortunately something we all have to go through during the summer one way or another. I already dedicated a whole post to the water lily line, you can take a look here.

In terms of facial skin care, I always prefer serums or fluids over rich creams, especially if I apply some products with SPF afterwards. I mentioned this Lavera Mint Face Fluid several times already, I think this can easily be my favorite day serum right after the L’Occitane Angelica Day Serum, which is way pricier. You can read the whole review here.

I’ve also started using the Ma Provence hair shampoo in solid form. It is actually really weird at the beginning because it doesn’t foam in the usual way, but it gets better after a few uses. One solid shampoo should substitute two usual bottles of hair shampoo and you don’t have to use the conditioner at the end – I just apply two drops of argan oil on my hair tips before drying it and that’s it!

And now onto the best find of this year, the Bottega Verde Skin Voile serum foundation with hyaluronic acid and SPF. I really wanted to write a whole post on that in spring, but I just couldn’t find time to do that so I’ll go in more detail now. I found it around the last December as I’ve been searching for a good quality organic/vegan foundation for months. The beauty adviser at the Bottega Verde store in Ljubljana showed me a couple of their foundations and I decided to give this Skin Voile a try as it provided the most coverage.

I was pleasantly surprised by how easily this foundation is applied and how much coverage I can achieve with just one layer. They have around 8 different shades, but I’ve been mixing the lightest number 1 (Beige eclat) and number 4 (Mandorla) throughout the whole time, I just add a drop more of the darker one in the summer. In almost eight months, I’m still using the first darker shade and the second bottle of the lightest shade. They are a bit pricy, around € 23 each, but I always get them when they have a 50 % discount.

I usually apply a layer of pressed powder on top. I’ve worn it from 7 in the morning up to 9 or 10 in the evening, which amounts to 15 hours of wear time without any corrections. It usually wears a bit on my nose or on my chin, but other parts stay impeccable, I love it!

My new blush obsession is also very high on my priority-stuff-to-tell-list! I totally love the MUD blushes, especially the one in shade Garnet. All of them are highly pigmented and have to be applied with caution – looking like a clown is not something we want, am I right? ;) So, I swirl my Real Techniques Blush Brush lightly, then tap the access off on my hand and then apply it on the cheeks, I rather repeat several times and achieve a nice flush of color than applying way too much the first time.

As for the lips, I’ve been very much into matte lipstick, I don’t like glossy products because it’s much easier to smear them all over the face with my hair. I really liked the combination of a dark lip crayon and the Aura Absolute Matte Velvet feel lip cream in shade Dream Team, on top. It stays put for the whole day and its peachy hue is just gorgeous!

New in June #8

Although I’ve been in Belgium for a week now and already purchased quite a few interesting beauty-related goodies, I wanted to show you what I got in June first. Some of you may know that I celebrated my 25th birthday last month and on that occasion, I also got some beauty products from my family and friends. Let me just say that opening birthday presents is much more fun when your loved ones know what you like, ha! As I have tried out quite many of them already, I’ll give you quick first impressions as well.

IMG_4907
Let’s go to body care products first. I finally got the Afrodita Cosmetics Body Scrub I wanted to try out so badly! I usually do my own sugar scrubs, but it was so nice to receive this luxurious scrub with a wonderful vanilla scent. I also finally saw what a real sugar scrub looks like, it is much more liquidy than the ones I’ve been making by myself, which also makes it easier to apply. In addition to that, it leaves such a nice feeling on the skin and a lovely vanilla scent as well.

The other body-related product I got is the Alverde Dusch-Peeling. This is actually a very nice shower gel with really gentle scrub particles, which is not too much even if I use the Afrodita body scrub before. It has a light magnolia scent and a creamy texture. I love it!

As for facial care, I got two pretty nice products. The first is the Alverde Cleansing Face Foam Beauty&Fruity with lime and apple suitable for normal and combination skin type. It gently cleanses my face and I’ve been using it both in the morning and before bed. I also got the Corine de Farme Refreshing Orange Blossom Mist. Let me just say this is one of the most addictive scents I’ve tried lately. There is not just orange blossom in there, it feels like they managed to capture both spring and summer in one bottle, it’s divine! I had it on my desk all the time, just to take a sniff or two every time I saw it. You just spray your face it a few times and it already feels much more fresh. However, I haven’t tried it as a makeup fixator yet, I’ll do that in August when I come back.

I also got myself two sunscreens from the Müller brand Lavozon, skin protection is important even if you’re visiting northern parts of Europe! The one in the back is the mattifying face serum with SPF 30 and the other one is a normal body sunscreen with SPF 20. They both have a nice scent and the serum is also light enough to be used under makeup. Also, they’re so tiny, you can easily store them in your bag.

I am a huge lover of dry shampoos and also a Batiste supporter up until recently. Up until recently, I said, with a reason! My sister introduced me to the Balea Dry Shampoo for dark hair and I can honestly say it does practically the same job as the one from Batiste. I’m saying that because I’ve tried a few white Balea dry shampoos and they always disappointed me with inefficient textures and white residue on my hair. This did not happen with this one, so I’ll probably be using it all the time from now on. Plus, it only costs half the price of Batiste shampoos!

Next I got a beautiful Catrice Softly Touch Shadow in a beautiful shade called Melt Down Brown. Unfortunately, it’s from the Limited Edition Net Works, so I don’t know if it’s still available in drugstores. Nevertheless, its champagne touch and tiny silver glitter don’t make it perfect just for the eyes, but also for your cheeks! It works great as a highlighter, especially because of its creamy texture. Love love!

Because of travelling, I decided to take face wipes with me as well. I went for the Balea micellar face wipes. They actually remove makeup efficiently without any residue on the skin. I’m impressed!

IMG_48972
Last but not least, I got three new nail polishes in June. The first one is the Models Own nail polish in shade Coral Reef. I already have the base- and top-coats from the same brand, and since a lot of Slovene bloggers love them, I expected a lot. Well, I haven’t been more disappointed about a nail polish in ages, to be honest. It not only chipped off in a matter of hours, it literally peeled off my nails without a good reason. I can easily say I won’t try any of their products, it will save me a lot of time and money, too.

On the contrary, the other two polishes are amazing! The first one from Rimmel London is a gorgeous shade Neon Fest from the Rita Ora collection. I love all polishes from Rimmel London and I love pink nails. A combination that cannot go wrong! The second one is also in a pink shade, as I said, you cannot go wrong with pink polish for me! It is the Depend GelLack in a pastel pink shade Cookie Dough, isn’t it adorable? I already dedicated a whole post to this little cutie, you can read it here.

I already got myself quite a few new makeup and skincare products in the last week, let me just give you a hint: I felt very generous in The Body Shop and Kiko Milano stores! I’ll let you know more about my recent purchases soon!

Take care,
Vesna
