Yoga Routine

Zdravo! :) Do sedaj o tem še nisem bolj podrobno pisala, zato se mi zdi, da je zdaj pravi čas, da govorimo tudi o športnih aktivnosti. Z jogo se ukvarjam že pet let in moram priznati, da začetek ni bil prav prijeten. S športom sem se ukvarjala že prej, vendar na tako intenzivno vadbo niti slučajno nisem bila pripravljena. Vse je bolelo, nobene roke in noge nisem mogla iztegniti do konca … Tako sem vaditi pričela tudi doma in napredek je bil že po nekaj tednih viden – predklon in druge asane sem naredila brez problema in šele takrat sem med jogo pričela uživati.

Hi! :) I haven’t written about this particular theme until now and I think it’s the right time to talk about sports activities. I’ve been doing yoga for five years and have to admit that the start wasn’t particularly pleasant. I’ve been doing sports before, but I wasn’t prepared for such an intense workout. Everything hurt, I couldn’t stretch my arms and legs properly etc. Then I started to do yoga at home and the progress was remarkable after a few weeks – I could do a forward bend and other asanas without any problem and that was the moment when I really started to enjoy doing yoga.

Dve pomembni stvari pri vadbi: glasba in dišeče palčke. Vse skupaj ustvari res prijeten ambient in joga je še bolj privlačna in zanimiva. V vsem tem času nisem našla boljših dišečih palčk od teh, Zimski gozd, ki sem jih našla v prodajalni L’Occitane. Žal so jih umaknili iz prodaje in jih od takrat nikjer nisem videla. (-> če jih najdete, mi prosim prinesite ene!) <3

Two important things in my yoga routine: music and incense sticks. Both together create a very pleasant atmosphere and make yoga even more interesting. I haven’t found better incense sticks than the L’Occitane’s Winter Forest. Unfortunately, they have been removed from sale and I haven’t seen them since. (-> if you find them, please bring them to me!) <3

Za prijetno vadbo potrebujemo tudi udobna oblačila. Meni ustrezajo čim bolj oprijeta, da med vadbo ne motijo. Jogo je priporočljivo izvajati na podlogi, zato da smo med asanami čim bolj stabilni in nam pod stopali ne drsi. Trak je poljuben, lahko nam pomaga pri nekaterih asanah, ki jih (še) ne moremo do konca narediti. Po vadbi je dobro piti vodo.

For a pleasant workout, we need comfortable clothing. I prefer my clothes be as fitting as possible, otherwise they tend to disturb you during workout. We should do yoga on a yoga ma– it makes us more stable and our feet don’t slip. The resistance band is optional and helps with asanas which cannot be done properly (yet). After the workout, it’s essential to drink water

Priporočam, da se vsaj na začetku jogo delate v športnem/joga centru. Učitelji joge vedno pazijo, da asane izvajamo čim bolj pravilno. Treba je tudi vedeti, da obstaja več vrst joge, meni ustreza bolj intenzivna. Če imate srečo, se vam bo med vsako vadbo na podlogo usedel maltežanček :)

I recommend to start doing yoga in a sports/yoga centre. Yoga teachers always watch out for you to perform the asanas correctly. It’s important to know that there are different types of yoga. Personally, I prefer a more intense workout. If you’re lucky, a small maltese will decide to sit on your mat during every session :)

Mango & blueberry smoothie

Smoothie. Zmešanček. Kakor koli jim že rečemo, dejstvo je, da so enkratni! Če kdo od vas meni, da poje premalo sadja in zelenjave, vam lahko iz lastnih izkušenj povem, da so smoothieji najboljši način, da v svoje telo vnesete vse potrebne snovi. Načeloma bi morali vsebovati več kot 3/4 zelenjave, vendar je v mesecih, ko na domačem vrtu ne raste veliko, dobro zelenjavo res težko dobiti. Tako moj prvi smoothie vsebuje špinačo (sicer zmrznjeno, zagovarjam svežo!) in veliko sadja :)

Smoothies. They are amazing! If anyone thinks that he/she does not eat enough fruits and vegetables, I can assure you from experience that smoothies are the best way to bring necessary substances. It is said that more than 3/4 of smoothie should consist of vegetables. However, in these months basically nothing grows in the garden and good vegetables are difficult to find. This is why my first smoothie includes spinach (I used frozen spinach, definitely prefer fresh one!) and lots of fruits :)

Za dve osebi (ali eno lačno) potrebujemo:

  • eno banano
  • skodelico špinače
  • skodelico narezanega manga
  • pol skodelice borovnic
  • 2 žlici lanenih semen
  • 2 skodelici vode

Vse dobro zmiksamo v mešalniku, prelijemo v kozarce in potresemo z lanenimi semeni. Dober tek! :)

For 2 servings (or 1 hungry person) we need:

  • one banana
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 cup chopped mango
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 2 tbsp flax seeds
  • 2 cups water

Blend all ingredients, pour into glasses and garnish with flax seeds. Bon appétit! :)

Warmer & Yankee Candle Tart

Zdi se mi, da smo v navalu božansko dišečih sveč popolnoma pozabili na izparilnike! Pred leti sem jih nenehno dobivala za darila in jih pridno uporabljala, v zadnjih nekaj letih pa so jih sveče po krivici izpodrinile :)

Pred dvema tednoma sem zavila v trgovino, kjer prodajajo Yankee Candles izdelke. Takoj ko sem zagledala celo polico tortic dišečega voska, sem jih pričela vonjat. Ko sem štirikrat prevohala vse (in sta me prodajalca že res čudno gledala), sem vendarle izbrala eno, in sicer Paradise Spice. 

It appears to me that we completely forgot about warmers in a rush of divinely scented candles! I used to get warmers as gifts all the time and also used them regularly, but candles supplanted them unjustly in recent years :)

Two weeks ago, I went to a shop with Yankee Candles products. As soon as I realised that they have a whole shelf of wax tarts, I started smelling them. After I smelled all of them for the fourth time (and two sales persons started to watch me in a weird way), I finally chose one – Paradise Spice.

Tortica diši po vaniliji, klinčkih, banani … vonj je že malenkost prazničen in božičen, vendar je še vedno univerzalen in prijeten tudi spomladi.

The tart smells like vanilla, cloves, banana… it has a very festive and Christmas-y smell, but is still universal and pleasant in spring too.

Soba mi že nekaj dni božansko diši, čeprav izparilnika nisem ponovno prižigala. Komaj čakam, da trgovino ponovno obiščem! Prepričana sem, da jih bom kupila preveč… :)

My room smells heavenly for a few days now, although I didn’t light the warmer again. And I can’t wait to pay another visit to the store! I’m sure I’ll buy way too many… :)
